In this week's Zendala Dare, Erin added to the challenge by asking that each zendala have something that is reminiscent of winter. I really struggled with the template and winter. Finally, the thought of Snowy Owls for The Bright Owl Dare seemed to work with the template. Here is my version:
Then I started to see in the template the domes of St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. It seems that every picture of I have ever seen of the cathedral was taken during the winter. So I did this version:
Here is a picture of St Basil's.
The owlets are heartbreakers! Have you been to Moscow?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have not been to Moscow. I would love to see St. Basil's in person. Thanks for your comment on the owlets.
DeleteWOW, I LOVE the owls, what a great idea and very well done! The other one is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteThis is really interesting, Kim. I absolutely adore the owls - such a clever image and so well done. I too began to see the domes of St Basil's as I was working on my last one, but I didn't bother to get up and check what they were really like but I'm so glad someone did - it works perfectly. I love yours. Axxx
ReplyDeleteThose owls are absolutely adorable! Such a clever composition.
ReplyDeleteThe owls are wonderful and so is the domes of St Basil's. My sister (a non-tangler) wants me to do some for her kitchen wall.
ReplyDeleteI tangled the template using owls similar to yours Kim and made it into a birthday card for my sister. She loved your owls and wanted one herself.
DeleteBoth are wonderful, but I just LOVE the owls!! So clever!

ReplyDeleteSaw the owls immediately. Look great. Glad you pointed out about the domes. My mind did not go there but it is an appropriate connection.
ReplyDeleteI love the owls; such fun. The domes are great, too. But the owls are a hoot! (Pun intended)
